OOTD huntsmans went across the road from our last OOTD spot. We have made it to Yunnan Garden. The great thing about Yunnan Garden is the various Chinese Traditional decorative items.

There is the memorial monument, featuring Daniel who looks like a tourist.

One spot you cannot miss is the bridge, starring Lin Yuan who cannot stop complimenting it.

There are also various octagonal pavilions. Presenting Huan Ling who also looks like a tourist.

Next up is a personal recommendation. Do not laugh. Because it is a short lamp. It would make perfect OOTD photos if you sat down for a photo with it.

There are also nice tall lamps which Daniel decided to take photos with. From the background, you can notice words in the ground, which can add nice touches to your OOTD too.

Lastly, there are stone benches situated around the garden. Behind every stone bench are a bush of lush flower. Thus you do not have to worry about the background being awkward.

You can take your time and experiment with different poses as not many people visits the garden. Occasionally, there are people studying in the pavilion though.

Lastly, we bring news to you. Today, we are officially retiring as OOTD huntsmans. As such, this will be our last OOTD post. We hoped that our job has brightened up your school life.

Before we go, I am sure some of you would have noticed. Yes, this is “the” place. However, as long as you do not visit late at night, it should not be a problem. If you do, do not go towards “the” tree.

Is it haunted? Are there ghosts? If you do not know what we are talking about, you need to watch this now!

Before we go, do remember to tag us at #uniquelifeOOTD and stay safe. Who knows, we might launch a continuation.

Can you guess where the OOTD huntsmans have finally returned from? This time, we went to Chinese Heritage Centre. It is a grand yet mostly vacant place, most ideal for taking OOTD photos.

Can you spot the magnificent building?

The building itself is a great background for your Instagram photos. Tip: you can try positioning yourself at the side of the stairs instead of right in the middle. It will allow you to showcase the building at an angle, keeping the focus of your Instagram photos on your outfits.
Featuring K-cia and Huan Ling…. And a pretty back view of a postman.

Feel free to take your shots right at the entrance. The red door definitely adds to the traditional Chinese vibe.

Huan Ling laughing it off after we found her trying to break into the museum.

You can explore the interior too. There isn’t much to work with. However, if you do want to explore this section, it would be a good idea to arrive early to make use of natural lighting. It really makes a difference.
If you arrive late, fret now. You can use the spotlight just like what Daniel did.

You can always make use of the white background behind if you have more complicated outfits to feature.

The fountain right outside the building is also a great spot for photoshoots. You can try taking the photo with the building in the background too. Featuring Lin Yuan and K-cia.

You can test out different pose. We recommend you standing on the ledge to feature the fountain more clearly. Do take care not to fall in though.

Tips for your outfit ideas: If you plan to take an OOTD with the building in the background, due to the details and colour, we advise your outfit not to be too colourful. Try to keep it plain and basic.

You would probably not attend any lessons here, but it is a place you should visit at least once in your NTU school life. Lastly, do tag us at #uniquelifeOOTD. We seriously need some outfit ideas. (Not that NBS shirt is ugly.)

Till the next time we meet~ 再见~

OOTD Spot #5

Can you guess where the OOTD huntsmans have finally returned from? This time, we went to Chinese Heritage Centre . It is a grand yet mostly...
After starring iconic ADM building in our previous post, many have strongly urged us to do a write-up on the Hive, and so we did. The OOTD huntsmans is officially presenting another NTU’s iconic building, The DimSum Hive. Let’s admit it, if you have never step foot in it, it does looks like… you know.

The Hive is indeed a treasure trove. Prepare to be awed when you step in. Unless you have already been there countless time. Although the whole building looks unique on the inside, not any and everywhere is suitable for an insta-worthy OOTD. Note: reflective glasses, lack of natural lighting and overcrowding of people makes it exceptionally difficult to take awesome OOTD shots.

Nevertheless, there are some hidden places we found. Firstly, the library. The rule of silence must be observed in the library. However, there is no rule saying you cannot take OOTD shots in the quiet zone. And so we did.
Let’s assume that K-cia is genuinely doing work, and I coincidentally snap an OOTD worthy picture. Hive’s library is one of the places that is air-conditioned and super comfy for sleeping… studying.

We also managed to find a chair matching Shirleen outfit’s colour scheme. We did this while maintaining silence. Studious student enjoying a book about Big Data for IT. To the point she has mastered the art of reading the book upside down.

Next stop is very specifically, the second highest floor. The building is generally suffering from lack of sunlight, except for the highest 2 floors. However, we do find that this particular level has more space for Instagram worthy pictures.

For instance, the stone statue. It provides a basic yet modern background. You can even stand or sit on the steps. Best of all, sufficient natural lighting!
 Featuring Shirleen.

You can also take pictures at the edge.
Featuring K-cia with the pastel blue sky. Tip: Try a lower angle to censor the clutter in the background and also make yourself look taller!

Finding props to take OOTD with.

Another great spot is the space near the elevators. It provides the sand/Egyptian basic background to make your outfits stand out.

Lastly, the stairs is another recommended OOTD spot. Do note that you have to suitable stairs with lighting.
Featuring Shirleen in a candid shot. Tip: OOTD shots are not profile pictures, feel free to look away from the cameras.

There is actually a lot of angle for you to experiment with. Even if you do not want to take OOTD, you can still take Instagram worthy photos.

Let me end off by sharing more of K-cia’s photos. She looks really happy to see those plants. This really makes us think what is happening to students’ life.

After starring iconic ADM building in our previous post, many have strongly urged us to do a write-up on the Hive, and so we did. The OOTD ...
The excruciating wait is over. Here is ADM’s Part II continuation that we promised to deliver. Let’s head off to the Sunken Plaza. For non-ADM students, that’s the “official” nickname for the plaza in front of the building.

First stop, the fountain of…water. Do note that there is only one stair providing access to the rooftop. The rest are simply too steep to be climbed. Nevertheless, still insta-worthy spots. The fountain is aptly located at the foot of the roof so that your background would not be too boring.

Featuring K-cia.

Moving on, “the mini waterfall’. The wooden planks make it more surreal. It’s a great spot to take OOTD. Tips from us: try sitting down for your photo.

Next, we are approaching the “floating platforms", named by us truly. This is a personal favourite. The elegant design, textured flooring, glass building, etc. Everything just sums up to excellent. It’s designed in a way it is hard even for beginners to fail at taking OOTD shots.
Featuring K-cia and Huan Lin would felt so peaceful they decided to meditate on the spot. There is so much you can do! You can try lying down and take a top view shot even.

You can also take candid shots. Psst, you can try pushing your friend into the water.

Make your way across the floating platform for more.

Huan Ling decided to photobomb, but it added a nice touch instead.

Not only the exterior of the building is nice, even the interior is custom build for taking Instagram photos.
Another tip we have: plain walls as background can make your outfits stand out. The grey textured wallpaper can make your photos look classy and modern.

For a different feel, there are lockers to give a western college school life feel. Pssst, try looking for some lockers with unique decorations too add on to your background.

Not everything can be contained within this post. Their stairs also make good OOTD spots. It is a place worth exploring.

We hoped that our recommendations can help spice up your student life. Do tag us at #uniquelifeOOTD to share with us your OOTD photos too.

NTU not only have OOTD spots, there is so much more to explore. For more information on NTU student life, visit Unofficial NTU Guide.
